So that she could easily view and update our financial records. That the Mac versions of both QuickBooks and Quicken have for. On my MacBook pro, I downloaded macOS Sierra version 10.12 without checking if my 2014 Quickbooks is compatible. Is it possible to erase macOS Sierra, upgrade my quickbooks to 2016, then reload Sierra without down loading El Capitan? Right now I am re downloading from my purchases in the app store El Capitan but is it necessary? It is taking a long time and quickbooks is my business and I am locked out. I am not sure about space on my computer for 2 OS and could that make it take longer (it's been 3 hours). Did you see QuickBooks has an update that may work, in their downloads? A few days ago out of curiosity (I've no QuickBooks products) I looked; so was able to add reply to an ASC discussion about that issue here: Not sure if their other version would be so compliant with an update; but the ability to upgrade (via purchase option) may be another way to go if there isn't an official update patch. See the customer service community. The update link included inside the above reply may work for you. Good luck & happy trails! I had this same issue, but with an even older version of QB for Mac. Support told me the only option if I wanted to keep the older QB software would be to downgrade to my previous version of OS10, which would entail erasing everything on my computer and reloading from a backup, with no guarantee that I would not lose some files. I opted to download QB for Mac 2016 instead. Yeah, it was $200, but it downloaded, installed and picked up my QB files from the last input flawlessly and seamlessly. I highly recommend just sucking it up. It was worth the $200 to avoid the hassle and headaches, or worse. Intuit doesn't treat Windows users any better. If you purchased a version of QuickBooks intended to run in Windows 7, it is unlikely to run well, or at all in Windows 10. QuickBooks is always designed to run best only for the OS it was targeted for and one newer OS, which they'll patch it for. After that, they expect you to upgrade. Control + Return is an absolute pain because my description fields typically have a lot of data per line, but it's a work around. Thank you though for your input. I discovered I have a new problem today. Years ago, my Quickbooks crashed, which resulted in losing a few recent invoices. The did not work either. After restoring from an earlier backup, I began saving each invoice as a PDF when I was done with it, that way I had a copy. I've been a Quickbooks user since 2007. I also use this function to send the invoices to my clients. However, today I noticed that with all new invoices, they only save 4 lines of what's in the description field, and the lines appear to be random. The invoice is complete in Quickbooks, but not printing it or saving it as a PDF. This is a huge problem. Anyone else experienced this?
